Some places you visit. This is one you settle into. Tucked into the quiet hills of Newport, PA, this retreat was put together for one thing: enjoying time together without having to leave. You'll have two buildings to yourself: the 2-story A-frame (the main house) and the separate cottage.

Mornings start slow — a real espresso from the espresso machine, or a quick Keurig cup out on the deck. Afternoons are for the pickleball court, a round of spikeball in the yard, or a foosball tournament in the garage game room. Evenings end the way they should: around the campfire, soaking in the hot tub under the covered patio, or grilling on the deck while everyone actually sits down together.

The main house has two king bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen, with the kind of warm wood-beamed feel that glows at golden hour. Out back, the private cottage gives couples — or anyone who wants a little quiet — their own queen bedroom with its own shower and toilet. There's also a full-over-twin bunk the kids will fight over.

It's not a luxury resort, and that's the point. It's comfortable, it's fun, and there's always something to do. Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your pickleball paddle.

The Space:
You'll have two buildings to yourself — the 2-story A-frame (the main house) and the private cottage — plus all the outdoor space to roam. The main house holds two king bedrooms and the fully stocked kitchen — with both an espresso machine and a Keurig, so every morning routine is covered. The garage has been turned into a proper game room with a foosball table, a ping-pong table, and a large Smart TV. Step outside to the large deck with outdoor seating and a propane grill, your own private pickleball court, a spikeball setup, and a beautiful campfire and fire pit area for the evenings. The cottage has its own queen bed and its own shower/toilet combo, so it works perfectly as a quiet retreat within the retreat.

Guest Access:
The whole property is yours — main house, cottage, deck, game room, pickleball court, and fire pit area. Come and go as you please and make yourself at home.

Guests will have access to the house , cottage and the game room. Absolutely no hunting, parties or any type of events.

Quiet, small-town Newport neighborhood set near the Juniata River and surrounding farmland. The town square and Perry County Council of the Arts, small local restaurants, parks and boat/river access are within a few miles. The area has a rural, scenic vibe with nearby outdoor recreation (parks, river access) and occasional community events rather than dense commercial activity.

Most guests will need a car—the property is in a rural part of Perry County and roads are two-lane state/local routes. Road access is straightforward via PA state routes (PA-34 and nearby connectors) and US-22/US-322 for regional travel. Public transit options are limited to shared-ride and paratransit services operated regionally (rabbittransit / Perry County Transit) for scheduled or on-request trips; fixed-route bus service is minimal. Taxis and rideshares can be intermittent in this rural area, so guests should plan ahead.

The cottage has its own shower/toilet combo, separate from the main house. The full-over-twin bunk bed is great for kids — full bed on the bottom, twin up top. This is a peaceful, private retreat — ideal for unplugging and spending real time together. The pickleball court and game room are the heart of the property. Come ready to play.
